Upon the invitation by Projekt 0047 for their series of curated shows, I envisioned many artists and a wide range of work and ideas. Rather than installing a group exhibition, I wanted to present the work of each artist in distinct singularity and with the focus of a solo exhibition.

Each artist would have a room - or both rooms if needed - of the gallery at their disposal for twenty-four hours. This limited time would include installation and de-installation.

The artists were free to select the work on display. They could present either old or new work, work-in-progress, sketches, models or proposals for future projects. The gallery could be a testing ground for new ideas and the artists were welcome to treat the exhibition as a place to experiment with unresolved projects or show early material that have led to other bodies of work.

With an emphasis on experimentation, process, speed and quantity, it was my ambition that we would produce many thoughts and new experiences in this flicker of an exhibition. The situation provided by such a limited duration of time would prove more intense, quite exciting and a hopefully a little bit creative.

- Jan Christensen

Thanks to Elisabeth Byre & Maritin Braathen at Projekt 0047 for their wonderful support and generous assistance to all the artists for this project!
